Adoption is not something that happens to us once. It happens for some at birth, some well after birth, but regardless of when, how or why we are separated from our original families or our children, it affects us throughout our lives. Many issues come up for adoptees, natural parents and adoptive families that those who are not familiar with adoption may not understand.
